JUST WONDERING WHY?

Started to wonder why parents are off the hook and out of the media spotlight when it comes to child sexual abuse.

Certainly, priests, bishops and the pope all need to be held accountable but what about the horrors of sex abuse by parents at home? These crimes and sins that cry to the heavens need to be named for what they are. And justice is required. What gives here?

Perhaps it is time for a summit on sexuality, or Vatican III for all the Church and society to address these horrific crimes against our youth.

When will parents finally come forth to heal this unhealed wound of sex abuse of minors? When? Justice delayed, is justice denied for the common good of children and society. When will parents be accountable for such ghastly deeds? When?

How will we together make a difference?

  1. Parents generally do not have deep pockets or a definable treasury! If it is not lucrative, the lawyers will not proceed against a parent, or anyone else, for abuse or breech of contract even.

Certainly, priests, bishops and the pope need to be held accountable but how does a, so called, court of law fashion a remedy for an abuse victim from money that belongs to the Church and not to the priest, bishop or the pope? The priest, bishop, and pope have vows of poverty and celibacy...I believe.

The Church is not a business that earns money from pumping a litre or two of religion to members when they attend services there! So how does anybody attach what belongs to the Church for the wrong doing of a few freebooters? Child abuse is certainly not church business so how can there be a charge to the Church for this abomination? Well, follow the money and see who ends up with it! You will find that this was not a matter of justice for any of the victims!
